Conferences, themed meetings, performances, guided walks, book presentations, workshops, and many other initiatives further enrich the weekend program.

The goal is to annually increase the number of gardens included in the program, allowing visitors to discover new green spaces that are mostly secret and inaccessible during the rest of the year, to promote awareness of the various aspects of urban greenery, and to encourage reflection on the value that private greenery can and should have in the city, in synergy with public greenery. Taken together, the more than 40 green spaces featured in the event confirm that Bologna’s green spaces today are not merely ornamental and representative, as in the past, but are increasingly being embraced for environmental, ecological, and social purposes, in line with the principles of sustainable development that the city of Bologna is also practicing.

Diverdeinverde is a project curated by the IU Rusconi Ghigi Foundation. The event, which began in 2014 and will reach its twelfth edition in 2026, was conceived by the then Villa Ghigi Foundation and is made possible thanks to the generous support of the owners who agree to open their gardens and the invaluable support of the sponsors, the organizations that grant their patronage, the many associations, and the citizens who contribute to the organization of the events.

Who we are - Diverdeinverde

<meta name="description" content="Diverdeinverde opens over 60 private gardens every year in mid-May for three days.
