As of last year, the event has been flanked by the book Diverdeinverde – Exploring Bologna’s Secret Gardens.

The chapters of this book offer a brief overview of the origins and main features of the various types of parks and gardens that have accompanied the city’s development and that the event allows visitors to discover and appreciate. It is richly illustrated with pictures taken mainly during the event, in an effort to convey some of the emotions felt when entering these secret green spaces. They document the landscapes, views, trees, flora and artistic details that make Diverdeinverde such a special experience.

The book is a wonderful memento for those who have had the chance to see these gardens in the past, and it can help prepare visits to the upcoming Diverdeinverde. At the same time, it is a book to be perused and read, for a brief overview of the history of Bologna’s gardens.
